Written Portraits

21.05.23 - 21.05.23

Performance on 21st of May 23, 7.30pm
Written Portraits is an improvisation-based participatory performance where, as painters do, Adrián Dozetas portrays a person improvising a poem with his typewriter and the person receives the poem on paper as a gift.
This performance is based on improvised poems written live and often invites artists from various disciplines. Live music, live painting, and improvised contemporary dance; disciplines that not only lead the moment and the words into an experience of trance and human interconnection, but also tend to portray the person in their own language.
Adrián Dozetas is an Argentine writer based in Vienna.
He has published four books of poetry: "Business marginal", "Guirnaldas para la cage", "The Written Portraits Poems" and "Disparos y cachorros" / "Shots & Puppies" (Spanish and English versions).
In 2022 he published the novel "La esquina de los boludos" & "The corner of the jerks" in Spanish and English versions; he has collaborated in different forms of performance poetry with different artists, and recorded songs in collaboration with musicians and performers.
For several years Adrián Dozetas has been performing Written Portraits, based on eye-to-eye observation and portraying people live with his typewriter, together with other artists from other disciplines. With this performance he has traveled around the world, participating in major festivals.
